Entry requirements

We are looking to recruit candidates who can demonstrate professional success, high academic calibre, and a passion for global business.

 

Academic requirements:
For entry onto our MBA programme you should normally hold a 2:1 honours degree, or international equivalent, in any subject. We also consider candidates who may not meet this requirement but who can demonstrate significant work experience. We have experience in evaluating qualifications from many different countries and welcome applications from candidates with equivalent European and International qualifications.

 

Work experience:
In your CV and personal statement you will need to demonstrate a minimum of three years
of relevant post-graduation work experience with some managerial responsibilities. This could
include management of budgets, products, projects or people.

 

English language:
You will need a good level of written and spoken English to study at Newcastle and should be
able to demonstrate your proficiency. If your first language is not English you can demonstrate your English language ability with one of the tests below. We encourage you to book your English language test early to help your preparation.

 

IETLS: IELTS 6.5 overall with no sub skill below 6.0
TOEFL: TOEFL 90 overall with reading 22; listening 21;speaking 24; writing 24
Pearson PTE: 62 overall with 54 in all sub skills

Admissions process

The admissions process is competitive and places are limited on our MBA programme. We recommend you submit your application early to avoid disappointment. There is no application fee for our programme and you will be offered support and one-to-one contact throughout the process.

Step 2. Register online
Register online via our secure application portal and create a user name and password.

 

Step 3. Complete the application form
Complete the application form, including your personal statement - you can save and update as many times as you like before submitting.

 

Step 4. Attach and upload your supporting documentation
As a minimum you will need to submit:

  • academic transcripts
  • a personal statement
  • English language test results (if applicable)
  • two referees
  • your CV

Step 5. Accept your interview invitation
Every candidate who applies for our MBA programmes will be interviewed by a member of our MBA teaching team.

 

Step 6. Decision
You will receive a decision from our MBA Programme Director following the evaluation of your application and interview performance.
